A mobile dental service is holding an open day to give local people more information about the services on offer and an opportunity to register.

The pilot service is operating in St Ann’s providing dental treatment and care, oral health promotion sessions and oral health assessments. It is opening its doors on Tuesday 3 April from 8am to 4pm.

The Lord Mayor of Nottingham, Councillor Michael Wildgust, will be at the event from 9am to 10.30am to lend his support to the new development.

“The mobile dental service is a great way of bringing quality dental care to the areas that really need it,” said Lisa Hemstock, Practice Support Manager for Integrated Dental Holdings, which runs the service. “We are hoping that this pilot service will be a success and that we will then be able to establish a similar service in other areas of the City.”

The unit was commissioned (bought) by NHS Nottingham City after local people said they wanted more dental services to be provided near to their homes.

“Throughout the pilot we will be asking people what they think of the service, tracking how well it is attended and monitoring what it provides,” said Claire Matthews, of NHS Nottingham City. “We’d really like people to come along to the open day and then to let us know what they think of the service so that we can decide whether to keep running it.”

The mobile dental service is currently available from 10am to 6pm on Mondays and 8am to 4pm on Tuesdays at the Elohim Development Academy, The Wells Road Community Centre, St Ann’s NG3 3AG.

It will also be at Platform One GP Practice, Forward House, Station Street NG2 3AJ on Wednesdays from 10am to 6pm from Wednesday 11 April.

For further information or to make an appointment call 0115 9242424 or come along to the open day.
