About Us

NHS Nottingham City Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) is your local NHS. We are responsible for the healthcare of a population of 325,000 - whether it’s visiting your GP, seeing the nurse, picking up a prescription, having your eyes tested, going to the dentist, or having treatment in the hospital of your choice.

We spend £500 million of your money on services every year. As well as meeting your health needs today, we are also committed to improving health across our city in the future.

Nottingham has big health inequalities. Life expectancy is four years less than the national average and people’s lives are on average 10 years shorter in some parts of the city than in others. These differences are largely due to people dying earlier from heart disease, stroke, respiratory disease and cancer. We are tackling these inequalities in everything we do. We are ensuring that the quality of your health and care is not determined by where you live. We are working to improve health and wellbeing by improving access to quality care, giving care closer to home and encouraging people to make healthier choices and lead healthier lives.

Did you know that, in a recent survey, 83% of residents agreed that the local NHS is providing a good service, and 80% agreed that it helps improve the health and wellbeing of their family?
