Young people helping to improve asthma care

NHS England is inviting young people with asthma to join a national group to help improve asthma care.

The young people aged 13 to 25 will look at and comment on the methods currently available to help children and young people manage their asthma, ranging from formal action plans to interactive apps. They will also feed their thoughts in to a national group of professionals working to improve asthma care.

Individuals will be able to offer suggestions for areas the group could look at, tell their personal stories of what helps them manage their own asthma, offer comments on sample materials, and promote the group’s recommendations. This could include helping to plan – or even star in – specially made videos.

Most of the work will be carried out on email, and expenses and refreshments will be available for any face-to-face meetings.

Young people interested in joining the group can email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or Tweet @YHAalex.
