New cancer support launches in Nottingham City

A new project designed to provide support to people living with or after cancer is being launched at an event in Nottingham on Tuesday 21 April.

Beyond Diagnosis is a collaborative project from Macmillan and Self Help Notts. It has been developed to provide emotional and practical support to anyone living with a cancer diagnosis or still living with the after effects of cancer treatment.

To celebrate the official launch, members of the public are invited to Nottingham CVS on Mansfield Road on Tuesday 21 April between 2pm and 7pm. Drop in at any time to ask questions and find out more about the project and volunteering opportunities, or attend at 2.30pm or 6pm for a presentation about the service.

The project will deliver a number of services for local people affected by cancer including befriending and one-to-one support. Information will be available at the launch event both about the services themselves and about ways to support the work in a voluntary role.
