Reopening of Mapperley Park Medical Centre following temporary closure

Mapperley Park Medical Centre temporarily closed in September following a Care Quality Commission (CQC) inspection which found standards were lower than acceptable in certain areas, requiring immediate attention.

The CQC is satisfied that the practice has made sufficient progress in addressing these concerns and is able to re-open to registered patients from 19 December 2016.

All patients have been sent a letter with advice about when they may re-join the practice or resume using the practice if they have remained registered.

• Patients that have not registered elsewhere as a temporary patient will be able to book in appointments as of Monday 19 December.

• Patients who have registered at alternative local practices as a temporary patient and wish to re-register at Mapperley Park will need to do so on/after 3 January 2017.

NHS Nottingham City Clinical Commissioning Group is responsible for making sure that patients can continue to access local, GP services. Arrangements were put in place for the 2200 (approx.) registered patients to access care to meet their healthcare needs at alternative local practices during the period of closure.
