Evening and weekend GP appointments

Residents in Nottingham city will be able to access evening and weekend GP appointments from April 2018. The new GP+ service will provide an additional 700 appointments a week for patients.

GP+ appointments will be available between 4pm and 8pm on Monday to Friday and between 9am and 1pm on Saturday and Sunday at the GP+ Service at 79a Upper Parliament Street, NG1 6LD in Nottingham City Centre.

Appointments will be available with GPs, nurse prescribers and pharmacists and will provide the full range of services that you would expect from a local GP.

Patients can pre-book appointments and there will be a limited number of appointments available to be booked on the day. This can be done by contacting their GP practice.

Dr Hugh Porter, Chair, NHS Nottingham City CCG said:

“We are pleased to be rolling out this service which will significantly increase access to GP services for people living in Nottingham city.

“As a CCG we are committed to ensuring the local population is able to access health services when they need them. The extended hours service will be especially beneficial for people who struggle to access appointments due to commitments during the day.

“The central location of the GP+ Service is well serviced by local public transport which will make it more accessible for local people.”

Dr Jonathan Harte, Chair, Nottingham City GP Alliance said:

“The GP Alliance is delighted to have been given the opportunity to support City Patients and Practices by developing this service. The additional capacity it will bring will provide a useful service for patients and help to ease the intense workload pressures on General Practice in the City.”
