Children's Continuing Care Service

NHS Nottingham City Clinical Commissioning Group has commissioned Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust to implement a local Children's Continuing Care Pathway in line with the National Framework for Children and Young People's Continuing Care.

Direct Access Non-Obstetric Ultrasound process

Nottingham City and Nottinghamshire County PCT Cluster has awarded contracts to two new providers of Direct Access Ultrasound: Global Diagnostics Limited and Care UK. The new services are currently being mobilised. Global Diagnostics Limited was the first service to be ready and has been live and accepting referrals since December at five locations in Nottinghamshire. Care UK has also been live at three locations since the end of January. Other providers have now also been qualified and we will advise as soon as locations and start dates are known.

Home oxygen service

The CCG’s new Home Oxygen Service – Assessment and Review (HOS-AR) is now live.

The Department of Health has the revised National Framework for NHS Continuing Healthcare and NHS funded nursing care for use by clinical commissioning groups with effect from 1 April 2013. The following tools have also been amended in line with the changes:

X-ray and nuclear medicine referrals

The process of medical exposure, which includes the requesting of X-rays, is subject to statutory control. As such, NUH – as a provider offering a radiology service – has a statutory duty to provide guidance on the making of referrals to all those who refer into the service including GPs.
