Have Your Say
Excellent communications and engagement are critical for us to be an effective commissioner. We want to have a real understanding of what matters to our population
We are committed to ensuring that the views of patients, carers, stakeholders, partners and the wider community are represented in decisions about how services are proposed, planned and delivered as well as how they can be improved. Full details of how we will deliver our commitment may be found in our Communication and Engagement Strategy 2019-21.
Patient and Public Engagement Committee
The 6 CCGs have two core patient committees that act as Advisory Bodies to the Governing Body. Our Patient and Public Engagement Committees (PPECs) – Mid Nottinghamshire and Greater Nottingham - are strategic groups established to ensure that patient voice informs the decision making of the CCG. Through their work plans, our PPECs support the wider engagement of our population in our day-to-day business.
The Chairs of the PPECs are both lay members at meetings in common on the Governing Bodies with voting rights and lay members of the Quality, Safeguarding and Performance Committee. The Terms of Reference for PPEC clearly define its objectives and its ongoing role in the commissioning and monitoring of services for the local population.
Both PPECs meet monthly to discuss local health issues and as a means to pass on important messages for patients, carers and families. PPEC also has presentations from the CCGs about current and future plans so that the membership can give valuable, direct feedback to the commissioning process. Patient Participation Groups
Patient Participation Groups provide an opportunity for patients to be involved in decisions about the range and quality of services provided by their GP practice and the planning of services by the CCGs.
